While doing my research into Cymatics, I came across a mention of the Rosslyn Motet and the Stave Angel. Then, a twitter came into my tweet stream and it was connected to a video about cymatics and the cubes of Rosslyn Chapel. You can see where I am going with this can’t you. I followed the link in the tweet stream and watched the video. It showed a number of things but I will not be a spoiler. I have included the video below.
Being ever curious, I followed the credits on the video to the website of one Stuart Mitchell1, a pianist and composer. I clicked on the link to the Rosslyn Motet, the snippet of information that drew me to the site in the first place. Wow! Interesting image comparisons and news and information on Rosslyn Chapel and deciphering its secrets. Again, there is musical references to be found here.
I followed a few more links and found more fascinating things. Stuart is part of a program which allows you to map your DNA and have the results translated into a musical scale. This is then worked into a musical score. Under the heading of Cymatics and Music I found an online MP3 player with samples of the music composed by Mitchell. Listen to it now.
It would be interesting to see what John Stuart Reid and his research associates at Cymascope.com could make of the music of your DNA.
All in all, enjoy Stuart Mitchell’s site for what it is and when you have finished, come back and leave a comment.
