Namaste Holly Jo

It is my understanding that the chakras number from the root or base chakra. That is, the root chakra is number 1 with the crown chakra being number 7.

I hope this helps in sorting out which of your chakras are open or closed.

Thank you for posting this! I have wondered about the different Chakras and what they meant. But, I still have a question as to what their numbers are? I was told that certain ones are more open than others, but was only told by numbers. So, is the Root Chakra the 1st Chakra or 7th? Sorry so stupid about this!!

Aiping - Thank you for your comment. I was unaware of the correlation between the spine and the demigods. I'm appreciative of the information you have supplied.

Namaste

The Hindu religion talks of 3.3 million or 33 Koti demigods. These correspond to the 33 components or bead-like structures found on the Merudand (spine). These are called vertebrae.
