Linking the 7 Chakras and the 7 Sacred Directions
How do you think it is best to describe 6 dimensions as a three dimensional solid? Well, perhaps we could take a lesson from Sacred Geometry and use a combination of two tetrahedrons (three sided pyramids). These are called Mer-Ka-Ba. This word comes from ancient Egyptian.
Merkaba in ancient Egyptian has the meaning as described below:
Mer – described as a variety of rotating light that spins within itself.
Ka – or spirit which when used in this context referred to the human spirit.
Ba – or body, the human body which contains or holds the divine Ka or spirit.

The merkaba is not a perfect representation of the 7 directions as it actually describes 9 points in space. However, when represented in 2 dimensions, the merkaba becomes the ‘Star of David’ and you are able to see the 6 points in space that are necessary to link the 6 external points of the Sacred Directions. If you remember from part 2 the 6 external points are East, South, West, North, Sky and Earth. The 7th direction is your Sacred Centre. This point can also be seen in the flattened merkaba at its centre.
I find it interesting that there are 7 Chakras, 7 Sacred Directions and 7 points in space in a 2 dimensional merkaba. I believe that these spiritual ideas are all linked. The chakras are all linked to various colours as can the sacred directions. I have created what I think is the correct parallels in the following table.
Table of coincidence
Chakra |
Colour |
Direction |
| Base, Root or Kundalini | Red | East |
| Sacral | Orange/Brown | Earth |
| Solar Plexus | Yellow | Sky |
| Heart | Green | Centre |
| Throat | Light Blue | North |
| Third Eye | Indigo/Black | West |
| Crown | Violet/White | South |
Why this combination?
You may ask why I have put three colours together that at first glance do not look as though they belong together; indigo and black, violet and white, and orange and black? Simply put, I flet that orange and brown both represent earth colours and that while indigo is a deep purple/blue colour it is also the colour of night which has been described as deep black when the moon is new and the stars are hidden by clouds. Finally, I borrowed from a number of different meditations and my training as a massage therapist to combine the violent for the crown with white for the light you draw in when performing ‘white light’ massage. You draw this in through the crown and allow it to flow out through your hands.
My concluding thoughts
I see a plain link between the 7 Chakras and the 7 Sacred Directions. To me this link seems obvious and indicates that, although the spiritual pursuits that originating with these two different concepts seem to be a long way apart, this may not be the case. Many diagrams exist that support my theory. I have included one here to demonstrate my theory.
A new spiritual paradigm needs to be embraced to assist with the coming transition that will occur around the time of December 2012. I believe that the linkages I have made here with my theory could be a step in the right direction.
I would like to hear from you so please do not forget to provide comments below.

I strongly believe that what you have posted about 7 Chakras, 7 Sacred Directions are all interconnected with the universe and the coming transition , which plays a major role in defining our individual spirituality

I believe that you are right. The interconnectedness of our physical and spiritual beings does define our place in the universe.
