The New Spiritual Paradigm

What is a ‘Spiritual Paradigm’? For me it is the dominant belief system for a particular culture. For example, the dominant belief system throughout Asia several hundred years ago was Buddhism.

Spiritual paradigms assist people in feeling safe, respected and part of a community. This is because a shared Spiritual Paradigm gives a group of disparate people a common identity, a belief in something larger than themselves. This belief usually arises out of a mythos created to explain the origins of their community. Take the Christian religion for example;  it propagates a belief in an eternal kingdom to which those with faith will be brought to after death.

This allows a collection of diverse people, with one belief or faith, to be considered as a community. An expression of life (that of the non-physical) that transcends colour, race and location forms the basis of a ‘Spiritual Paradigm’.

According to a lot of information that is being rained down on people from all over the world a new ‘spiritual paradigm’ concerns a ‘change’ or ‘transformation’. The date that this is supposed to take effect is on or around 21 December 2012. What is supposed to happen then? No one really knows.

There is a lot of speculation around the end cycle of the Mayan Calendar which occurs on or about that date. We are being told that humanity is facing something catastrophic, but what that is no one can say. Most commentators agree however, that for humanity as a whole, to survive, we must face some fundamental decisions, one among them is whether or not to embrace a new ‘Spiritual Paradigm’.

According to Dick Rauscher, author of SPIRITUAL GROWTH: THE PRIMITIVE EGO GROWS UP (www.stonyhill.com): “Spiritual growth will require humanity to adopt a new paradigm of horizontal power; a world view of cooperation, empathy, diversity, interdependence, and a self-identity that is spirit centred, not ego-centred.” He claims that the ‘vertical power’ of the survival of the fittest is at the root of nearly all current world conflicts. In his opinion, humanity needs to evolve and grow on a spiritual (non-physical) level to become a true global community.

I had to travel the halls of time through the internet archive called the ‘Wayback Machine’ to discover passage of writing by David K Miller which was delivered as a lecture to the ‘Group of Forty’ on June 2, 2002. This lecture, located in the archive, is entitled ‘New Spiritual Paradigms’ and is delivered by ‘Juliano’ an Arcturian. During this lecture he says: “We are moving through the powerful corridor times of the 2012 era. Many things are becoming so polarized that the final outcome may result in the destruction of the standard institutions and structures that you have acknowledged as part of your basic society.”

My belief and understanding is that change is necessary for growth. Whether there is a coming destruction or transformation, human spiritual growth is necessary. We must walk together in peace and harmony to meet the challenges facing ourselves and all the species of flora and fauna that inhabit our world. As the supposedly superior species, we have the responsibility to ensure the safety and survival of ALL life, including that of GAIA, our mother earth.
