There’s that number 7 again. These energy centres all have individual names and attributes. They are connected to musical notes, elements, worlds, mother-power, colours, lotus flowers and deities. These heptads will be discussed in later parts of this article. Suffice to say for now that the number 7 continues to raise its head and hold sway over human consciousness.

Merkaba in ancient Egyptian has the meaning as described below: Mer – described as a variety of rotating light that spins within itself. Ka – or spirit which when used in this context referred to the human spirit. Ba – or body, the human body which contains or holds the divine Ka or spirit.

Finally, turn your mind inward and allow your feelings to well up within you. Try to maintain an awareness of the preceding 6 sacred directions and place yourself at the centre. Look for and locate the intersection of these 6 directions within your being. This is the 7th and final Sacred Direction. When you have connected with this place you may feel you are connected to all things and in doing so understand your place in the higher order of the universe.

The Heart Chakra is easily found within the chest. Our feelings and emotions are developed and processed through this chakra. This includes our ability to feel tenderness, bitterness, courage, vulnerability, forgiveness and hurt among many others. The element of air and the colour green are linked to this chakra. When this chakra is balanced you may have a better understanding and acceptance of your life and the relationships you develop.
