The ‘Seeker’ who attains the required level of concentration to open and balance the Sahasrara chakra is said to experience ’samadhi’ or the pure bliss of inactivity. With the movement of the mind up through the chakras, the ‘Seeker’ has begun to establish a connection to the higher realms of universal consciousness. Opening and balancing Sahasrara allows you to achieve the unconscious-conscious state or ‘asama-prajnata-samadhi’, which up until now has not been possible.

According to some belief systems, the ‘Spiritual’ nature of this chakra, when open and balanced can provide the ‘Seeker’ with imortality within the physical body. This is achieved by halting the downward flow of universal energy and maintaining it within the Ajna chakra. To slow and eventually cease the aging process and to conquer illness, dis-ease and death has been a dream of mankind since before recorded history began.

It is located in the region of the body where emotional and intellectual powers meet to form sounds through vibration of the vocal chords. It is the throat chakra or alternately the Vishuddha chakra. As with all chakras the Vishuddha chakra has its negative and positive aspects.

With this chakra fully open, we can accept our emotional energies, improving the depth of  our empathic nature.
