Well, to quote a show I was watching the other night, "Spirituality is for those seeking understanding...religion is for those seeking reward." This is the point in your life where you will step away from seeking the reward offered by being a "god-fearing" person and seek knowledge of the Cosmic Consciousness on your own. It is a journey I started on some years ago. I truly believe in Higher Power, Universal Energy or whatever other name you wish to put on that great unknown. My path though is to find understanding. I seek it on behalf of myself and others like you. When I find interest in something that has spiritual meaning I write about it. With your connection to the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, you have access to a great connection with "all-that-is" and should look to finding understanding first in your ancestral roots. When you have followed this path, you will then know what you need to do with that newly acquired knowledge. I have been reading your website and have been on a journey myself here the last year. I have recently stepped away from Christanity and have been searching. I just kept having this feeling that it was time to step away. To leave the confines of a church building. I could not shake the feeling until I did it. I have been looking for The Way and Truth as well and just felt that I could no longer sit passively and just accept with no critical thought what I was being fed. I walked away. I am a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Atmore AL and have really been feeling a pull towards being more aware of my heritage and the great wealth of Spirituality that I have been afraid of my whole life because my white grandparents (who was a Baptist preacher) taught me to be afraid of it. I was taught that it was evil in God's sight but now I am not so sure that is the truth anymore. I really want to feel and KNOW that conncetion to the true Spirit and Creator of ALL. Sometimes I have even felt that maybe there is no God. that we have all beleived a lie but deep inside I just cannot allow myself to beleive this. I feel like I am alone on this journey but I cannot go back to what I had known because I know it would be ultimately a spiritual death for me. I think something is going on though because my daughter Autumn has for some reason now become enamored with anything wolves. she wants wolf stuff for her birthday. And then I "just happened" to come across this website. do you have anything that might be helpful on this journey and that will help me not to be afraid.
