In part 1, I brought your attention to the fact that there are several types of yoga. The one that I was detailing in the first article was ‘Kundalini’ yoga. As my articles progress, I will continue to utilise this particular form of yoga for ease of reference. By keeping this focus, I seek to establish linkages between the various chakra points and their associated universal connections.
In a previous post I introduced a table of coincidence between chakras, colours and direction. In this post I will begin detailing the other universal light/consciousness connections that chakras and yoga have. In doing so, the coincidence with the number 7 and effect on the human psyche will become more obvious.
The new table will be developed for each chakra in turn. Below is the update on the linkages found to coincide with the base or root chakra, also known as the kundalini or muladhara chakra. This chakra is located at the base of the spine or anal region within the physical body. From this foundation chakra, we look towards self-preservation grounded in the earth. It opens and enhances our survival instincts while keeping us firmly connected to the physical plane. With this chakra fully open we can expect to experience prosperity of health, a dynamism of physical presence and physical security.
